Perth to Margaret River

Western Australia is home to the sunniest city in the country, the best wine region and some incredibly diverse scenery. There are many ways to travel this part of the country – have a look at this spectacular coastal route from Perth to Margaret River, including stops to add to your bucket list.

Bunbury

Stop in Bunbury to stretch your legs and visit the Dolphin Discovery Centre, including a 90-minute tour to see the wild bottlenose dolphins playing in their natural habitat. There’s also a few historic tours around the town itself. Find out how the indigenous people lived many decades ago.

Busselton

Sandy beaches and a nationally-renowned jetty make Busselton a wonderful place to stop on your way to Margaret River. Take a tour down to the coral reef here and perhaps join a whale watching cruise.

Dunsborough

Overlooking the gorgeous Geographe Bay, Dunsborough is home to crystal clear waters and rugged coastline. Try and spot some of the wrecks along this shore – such as the HMAS Swan. This place is also home to some surfer-favourites – Meelup Bay, Eagle Bay and Bunker’s Bay.

Margaret River
