Plan B’s New Album ‘iLL Manors’ Out This Week

It’s nearly here people! With his soulful vocals, Plan B’s new album ‘iLL Manors’ will be dropping on 27th July 2012.

Following the release of his UK quadruple platinum-selling album The Defamation of Strickland Banks, the Brit Award-winning artist Plan B (AKA Ben Drew) will release his powerful and volatile follow up ‘iLL Manors’ on July 27, 2012.

On ‘iLL Manors’, Drew refuses to shy away from addressing current socio-political issues and pushes boundaries on every level – making it work to incredible effect. As billions are spent on the Olympics, less than three miles away social and financial deprivation is rife in E7. Encompassing everything from gang initiation to prostitution, legal and illegal adoption and drug dealing and drug addiction, the bold and sometimes shocking ‘iLL Manors’ highlights the stark reality faced by many in today’s society.

The album’s second single Lost My Way sees Plan B and co-producer Al Shux mix hip-hop, soul and rock into a pummelling backdrop for fiery bars on the topic of socioeconomic injustice. Drew commented “The album has the lyrical depth of my first record but the musical composition is light years ahead as it’s informed by everything I’ve learnt in the last five years – writing, producing and playing with a live band. I feel I’m better than I’ve ever been.”

The Triple J feature album will be preceded by the theatrical release of the accompanying full length motion picture ‘iLL Manors’. The film is written and directed by Plan B.
