Potato Head Beach, Bali Announce Grace Jones After Party

The acclaimed Potato Head Beach Club Bali, known for hosting some of the world’s biggest and most diverse and exciting musical acts, welcomes pop culture visionary and music icon GRACE JONES to the Island of the Gods for the first time ever this October.

Today announced as a special guest, is none other than electronic music luminary DJ Harvey. The English-born, Los Angeles based DJ and producer will play an exclusive after party following Grace Jones’ performance. Since founding renowned weekend-long club nights in the 80s with TONKA Hi-Fi, to performing around the world at some of the most prestigious and infamous venues, including London’sMinistry of Sound, and releasing countless cult disco-edits, DJ Harvey is considered a music giant in the eyes of many.

A legendary show woman, Grace Jones regularly plays to tens of thousands of people at music festivals internationally, but will headline a more unique show at the Potato Head Beach Club on 8 October, 2016, giving fans access to an unrivalled, intimate experience with the art-pop pioneer.

The American musician, model and actress has been a recognisable figure in the international art and popular culture scene since the early ’70s. After a successful international modeling career, she moved into music by adapting the then-emerging New Wave and Post Disco genres to create a distinctive style all of her own. Her first recordings “Warm Leatherette” and “Nightclubbing” included original tracks such as the anthemic “Pull Up To The Bumper” alongside creative, out-of-the-box takes on popular songs such as Sting’s “Demolition Man”, Iggy Pop and David Bowie’s “Nightclubbing” and Roxy Music’s“Love is the Drug”.

In addition to her music, Grace Jones is known for her cult film roles, most notably alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Conan the Destroyer”, and the James Bond film “A View to a Kill”.

To give more Grace Jones fans a chance to experience a rare live show by the pop icon, from 8-16 September, Potato Head will be offering two tickets for the price of one for purchases made on the official Potato Head Grace Jones website and offline at Potato Head Beach Club Bali, Potato Head Jakarta, Potato Head Folk Singapore and Potato Head Hong Kong.

Grace Jones’ special set is just the latest showcase from an international act taking place on the tropical stage at Potato Head Beach Club. In August 2016, Disclosure and Mark Ronson headline the two-day Sunny Side Up Tropical Festival and previously, Snoop Lion, John Legend, Ellie Goulding, M.I.A and Fat Boy Slim have all performed at the Beach Club.
