This May Queensland is once again going to host the Noosa International Food And Wine Festival. From the 15th-18th of May. The delectable festival will return for an 11th year in a row and will host all that is rich and ripe in Queensland. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or a food fanatic, the Queenland’s Food and Wine Festival offers a great selection of things to try.
The annual event is circulated by over 200 charming chefs, wilful winemakers and food personalities from across the globe. Everybody gathers in Noosa Village to celebrate the abundance of food and wine. The event begun in 2003 as Jim Berardo and Greg O’Brien recognised the delights of Australian cuisine in Queensland. Their adventures, and phenomenal finding paved the way to the ultimate food and wine festival in Australia.
Noosa is located in the beautiful Sunshine Coast and flights from most Australian cities arrive at and depart from the airport of the same name in Maroochydore. The airport is a 30 minutes drive south of Noosa. Taxi and Bus transfers are available from the airport. You can also take buses from Brisbane Airport. If you’re driving to Noosa then it’s a one and a half drive north of Brisbane or to sit back and relax you can take the Greyhound Australia service. For schedules and rates go to www.greyhound.com.au.
Along with tasting the creations of the best chefs around the world, you will find food trails in the Noosa National Park, the Hinterland and the beach. The Gala Opening Night Concert is a grand welcome to Queensland with a burst of live music from musicians, accompanied by the mesmerising Queensland Virtuosi Orchestra. After the opening there will be three days to taste exquisite creations while bare-foot dining on Main Beach or indulging on the Suntory Cocktail Matching Dinner. Make sure you attend the Sunset Concert which includes artful canapés and refreshing drinks along with a mouth-watering three course dinner in the Noosa National Park.
Queensland’s foodie culture also includes champagne and wine master classes and the elegant and dainty Noosa High Tea by the River. The expanse of the state of Queensland is the breathing ground for adventure and activities. While you’re attending the Queensland Food and Wine festival you also have other destinations nearby that offer things to do.
