Radiohead ‘Bloom’ (Jamie xx Rework Part 3) – Single Review

Jamie xx’s unique spin on Radiohead’s ‘Bloom’ is a fine piece of electronic post-dubstep, which manages to fuse danceable club beats with a cacophony of distant clattering and ethereal vocals to good effect.

However, fans of Radiohead who want to check out this version of The King of Limbs song may be disappointed, as the original track is almost completely unrecognisable in the remix and there is almost nothing to be heard of Thom Yorke’s impassioned vocals.

But removing them was arguably essential if Jamie xx was going to make his own mark on the song and create a dancefloor filler. Overall, a worthwhile experiment.
