Review: Hot Tub Cinema – London
Last week on one of the coldest days of the year, I dunked myself in one of the hottest hot tubs in London to warm up and watch a film on the rooftop of an east London bar.
The concept of hot tub cinema really baffles most people – sitting in a hot tub watching a movie isn’t necessarily a conventional idea, but I must say, it’s a great one.
We went down to check it out on the night they were playing Team America, and with two screens on either side of the hot tub, there was no concern of whether I was sitting in the right direction, or if there was enough space, all there was to do was sit back, relax (literally) and watch the movie.
With beer, cocktails and food on tap, and delivery to your individual hot tub to top it off, there’s no chance of going hungry or thirsty. Sharing a hot tub with 4 other people who you don’t know can be cosy, but it’s a great way to meet new people.
If this option doesn’t float your boat, you can always rent out a whole hot tub with all of your friends, a really great alternative to your average night out.
I might just add it was raining, for the thrill-seekers; sitting in a hot tub is fine but for the less brave, not so much. Don’t worry – for a small amount of money you were able to purchase an umbrella hat to keep your head dry. Not a great look, but definitely practical. It seems these hot tub connoisseurs have all the bases covered.
Unfortunately, the summer season has ended, but look out for hot tub cinema this winter to really warm up in the cold weather!
