Review: Island Of Sin
In the words of Oscar Wilde “There is no sin except stupidity.” And as we found out this weekend- you would a pretty stupid fool to miss out on the big ‘Island of Sin’ party. Sun, tunes, beers, a boat, mates- what more could you want? Well, how’s about a crazy island with hot tubs, huts, a huge dance floor and top DJ’s from across the board?? Yeah, that’ll do!
The weather was perfect for a day of dance music. It seems the creators of the ‘Island of Sin’ planned it right. As everybody bopped onto the boats, ready for the Easter special, the vibe could not have been better. Everyone was making new mates and jumping to the beat as the boat set sail into the sun. Reminiscent of the boat parties in Ibiza, the party vibe was on a European level. It was clear that everyone had started early as the crowds cheered and waved to jet skies and other party boats. The selection of tunes on the boat was what everyone wanted. The DJ lineup included Raye Antonelli (Ministry of Sound) Jolyon Petch (NZ) and Vinyl Assassins to name but a few.
The four hours on the island flew by. People were partying with parrots on their heads, swinging from the trees and dancing whilst getting a massage! Then as the sun began to set, wobbly legs carried the loved up party people back onto the boats where the debauchery began hours before. Those who could stand, landed back onto the shuttle buses into reality at Shooters bar where the party continued into Easter Sunday. DJ Noir’s tune- Around was a definite favourite from the day- it’s a shame not every Saturday could be a party down at the Island of Sin.
