Rolf Harris’ Trial Date Announced
Rolf Harris. 83. Australian. Musician. Painter. Entertainer… Paedophile.
In March this year, Rolf Harris was arrested but was later released- to our relief. However this time, it’s official. On the whole, the popular children’s entertainer has been charged for nine counts of indecent assault and f
our more for making indecent images of children. The trial date has been set for the 23rd of September.
After releasing his Top 10 hit single ‘Tie Me Down, Sport’ way back in 1952, the UK welcomed Rolf with open arms as he became a musical sensation. He became known in particular for his odd choice of instruments such as the ‘wobble board’ along with his famous catchphrase, ‘Can you tell what it is yet?’. Furthermore, his success led him to become a successful television presenter later on in the 1960s.
He became such a huge personality that he was awarded numerous awards. In addition, he was also given the privilege to be made the ‘Officer of the Order of Australia’ at the Queen’s previous birthday.
Rolf certainly had us all fooled, but how is that so surprising when he was loved by so many. To anyone who has ever sung along with one of Rolf’s tunes or watched Animal Hospital or Rolf’s Cartoon Club as a child, this is the sort of news we want to react to by covering our eyes and sticking our fingers in our ears.
