Ross Wilson at The Espy – 11th March
45 years after starting his first high school band the Pink Finks, Ross Wilson is still delivering his trademark knock-out live performances with his all star touring band the Urban Legends. Of a career that has now spanned five decades at the pinnacle of the Australian rock and roll business, “I’ve had a hell of a time” says Wilson, who can’t make a comeback because he’s never been away.
Twice inducted into the Aria Hall of Fame, Ross Wilson remains one of the country’s most respected artists. From Daddy Cool to Mondo Rock, as a solo artist or as a songwriter of A-grade classics such as Eagle Rock and A Touch Of Paradise, or producer of the legendary Skyhooks, Jo Jo Zep, The Johnnys, and The Screaming Jets, Ross’ involvement with success has continued unabated.
Catch Ross play a free show in The Espy Gershwin Room Sunday March 11 (Labour Day Eve) with Espy regulars Laneway Funk Brothers, The Marabou Project and Bad Boys Batucada. From 5pm.
