Sam Sparro to Release New Album Plus Sydney and Melbourne Shows

As the chic and incredibly suave Sam Sparro touches down in Sydney this week ahead of his Mardi Gras performance, Sam proudly announces details for both his sophomore album ‘Return To Paradise’ and club show supports for Melbourne and Sydney.

Australian remix duo, Stereogamous (aka Paul Mac and Jonny Seymour) and Sydney’s Veen will support Sam Sparro on Friday March 9 at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory and Melbourne’s current hot young things, Private Life on Thursday March 8 at The Toff In Town Melbourne.

Sam’s upcoming shows will include a full live band with members from the UK and US, including singers from electronic outfit, Basement Jaxx! We’re telling you now; you may regret missing the post-disco revivalist and pop raconteur live, so get cracking on materializing those tickets…

‘Return To Paradise’, the eleven track follow up to Sam’s debut self titled album, will be released in Australia on Friday May 25. ‘Return To Paradise’ is a play on nostalgia and “paradise garage” – a genre derived from the hedonistic discotheque scene in New York in the late 70s that began in a parking lot (giving rise to the term “garage”), famous for its unique and eclectic style of disco and dance music.

The central themes are love and loss, and the quest for inner joy and happiness. “A lot of the songs are about me trying to find my sense of innocence and peace of mind and things that I felt had escaped me for a while”.

Whilst drawing on influences from the 70s and 80s, the album is still very contemporary with a modern take on these themes.

As Sam prepares for the Mardi Gras closing party this weekend, he is also ready to give Melbourne and Sydney audiences a night to remember.

Kicking off a perfectly partying Friday night in Sydney on March 9, Australia’s Stereogamous are the duo to take care of the dancefloor. Paul Mac and Jonny Seymour have remixed or collaborated with Kylie, George Michael, Jake Shears, Sia, Sam Sparro, LCD Soundsystem, Faker, The Presets and loads more. Recently they have remixed Light Asylum and Beni and they have original tracks in the works featuring Shaun J Wright (Hercules and Love Affair) and JD Samson (Le Tigre, Men).

Stereogamous have also toured the planet including sets at mega festivals (Lovebox, the Big Day Out, Vivid) soundtracked fashion parades (NYC, Paris, Sydney fashion week) and also represented at Gay Pride events all around the circuit (Folsom Street Fair San Francisco, Sydney Mardi Gras, Madrid Pride).
