Sandwell District Release New Mix
Mysterious collective Sandwell District have released a 30-track epic catalogue of material through Fabric 69.
Neither defining themselves as a label or or describing themselves in any other utilitarian form, Sandwell District, whose name derives from group member Regis’ hometown of Birmingham, formed in 2002.
The group, mainly associated with Function (Dave Sumner) and Regis (Karl O Connor), also includes Female (Pete Sutton) and Silent Servant (Juan Mendez).
Function and Regis have invested over 20 years in the development of Techno music, arguably making them the Godfathers of the genre.
This latest release features notable works from the collective’s members with both contemporary and classic tracks placed into one entity that perfectly defines who they are and what Techno is today.
Speaking of the latest release, Regis said, “The final mixdown was done by Dave (Function), as he had gone over the whole mix hundreds of times fine tuning the detail, it made sense for him to execute the mix proper”.
Sandwell District’s latest release is out now.
