Scotty’s Beach House has been chilling-out weary travellers for 19 years. Our unique blend of location and facilities means there is something here for everyone.

Just across the road from Mission Beach, Scotty’s Beach House is a friendly and fun backpackers resort in a superb location. All acommodation is air-conditioned and ranges from traditional bunkhouse-style dormitories to ensuited double/twin rooms, linked by a wide verandah that surrounds tropical gardens and creates a very social but relaxing atmosphere. The centrepiece is an 18 metre pool with a three metre deep end. The property is complete with shady hammocks slung between the fringing coconut palms.

Chasing the ultimate in adrenaline rushes? Try skydiving onto the beach, or white water rafting on the famous Tully river!

Love the beach and blue water? Mission Beach is ideally located for diving and snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, sea kayaking, sailing, visiting tranquil Dunk Island, swimming and excellent beach fishing (we hire fishing gear.)

Into nature? There are many walking tracks through the local National Park rainforest (we organize free drop-off) where you can spy the elusively beautiful cassowary.

Hectic partying wearing you out? Relax and chill out with some tasty tunes and a drink in our lush tropical gardens, with great hammocks strung between coconut palms and a huge 18m pool to cool off in.

Don’t fancy cooking? Follow the path past the pool to Scotty’s Bar and Grill for a mouth watering meal. Stay on and join in the nightly activities in the air-conditioned Hard Banana Bar or head down the beach for a romantic walk under the stars.

Dormitories
The Mixed Dorm – $22 per night
Our largest dorm, sleeping 12 guests, with air conditioning and ceiling fans.

The Nunnery – $24 per night
Our freshly decorated 6 share dorm with air conditioning and ceiling fans is close to both the bathrooms and kitchen area. The Nunnery is ideal for backpackers travelling on a budget or those who like to meet people!

Deluxe Dorms – $27 per night
Sleeping 4 or 5 people with en-suite bathroom and air conditioning, perfect for those looking for a little more comfort whilst travelling.

Double Rooms
Standard Double Rooms – $59 per night
Our standard double rooms are perfect for couples wanting some privacy, with air-conditioning and ceiling fans.

Deluxe Double Rooms – $69 per night
Our deluxe double rooms offer the added privacy of an en-suite bathroom and tea/coffee making to couples who want their own facilities.

All rooms have bar fridges and prices include bed linen and blankets (towels by arrangement).

The Scotty’s Beach House reception team are friendly and helpful, armed with quality advice and personal experience of the best local and interstate tours, nearby attractions and activities.

A fully licensed bar and bistro are located on the beachfront side of the resort and offers a wide range of tasty meals. Many other eateries are within easy walking distance of the resort. Scotty’s Beach House is not licensed, so guests are free to purchase their own alcohol for consumption on site.

Mission Beach is the premium location to skydive onto the beach or go white water rafting on the mighty Tully River, but there are a variety of other local tours for the not-so adventurous including Great Barrier Reef cruises, Dunk Island exploration and rainforest walking tracks. Fishing is popular, and rods are available for hire.
