Tramlines Festival is celebrating the big 1-0 with a bigger party
Tenth birthdays are landmark milestones and Sheffield’s Tramlines Festival is celebrating the big 1-0 with a bigger party and some big-gun guests. Topping the bill are Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Stereophonics and Craig David’s TS5 yet delve a bit deeper and the line-up is a stellar blend of promising talent and established acts across genres. That includes the likes of hip-hop veterans De La Soul, rising stars Blossoms, art-rockers Everything, Everything and comeback kings Shed Seven as well as Milburn. The festival must be onto something good if The Big Moon and The Sherlocks return after performing on last year’s edition.
The festival has also moved to Hillsborough Park to accommodate the expanded line-up and each stage brings something different to the party. T’Other Stage showcases the most diverse range of acts; from guitar troubadour Jake Bugg to the classical pop crossover of Clean Bandit via upcoming rapper Steflon Don. If you fancy a bit of comedy mixed in with some local guitar bands as well as The Mystery Jets and Rat Boy then The Leadmill Stage will suit the most eclectic of tastes. Then there is the family-friendly Into The Trees which will be under the shade during the day with DJs taking over as the sun goes down. Finally, The Library Stage will be set next to the park’s own book room as a tranquil space for unearthing new talent.
With over 70 acts across five inner-city stages at the Hillsborough Park site you would be hard pressed to find better value this summer. Tickets are still on sale online for just £79 at https://www.tramlines.org.uk/tickets/ for the three-day weekend.
