Single Review: James Blake, ‘Love What Happened Here’

One of 2011’s brightest young things – James Blake – seemed to be everywhere when the hype surrounding him finally reached its zenith when he released his debut album ‘Klavierwerk.’ Blake returns (in a manner of speaking) in 2012 with a song that has been floating around for a while, but this time with an official release.

‘Love What Happened Here’ is a typical Blake track – broken up synths, echoey vocals, a dirty bassline and a bit of a disjointed feel to it. You’ll have to listen to it a few times to fully appreciate what makes it all come together, but as one youtube comment puts it “…like having sex on a vanilla bed while drinking brandy.”
