Slow Down Molasses Summer Sun New Single

Sasktoon Indie Rock band Slow Down Molasses are gearing up for a new album, and to give us an idea of what to expect, the band have unveiled their new track, Summer Sun.

The band are frequently joined in studio and on stage by an ever rotating cast of collaborating musicians and have honed comparisons to English indie-rock 5-piece, The Horrors. Originally forming as an alt-country outfit, the band have found a new direction in which to take their music as they mature through their forthcoming album Burnt Black Cars.

The first single to be taking from Burnt Black Cars is ‘Summer Sun’, which features a myriad of instruments that shimmer over you, in wave after wave of striking, hypnotic beats. Littered with fuzzed guitars, high velocity organs and boasting an array of strings and harmonies. This hazy dream pop single infects every bone of your body with its incredible production that engulfs you in this psychedelic trip that’s far away from reality. The track takes inspiration from wide-open spaces of their home province of Saskatchewan.

Summer Sun is available for purchase and download now. Burnt Black Cars is slated for an early 2015 release. Slow Down Molasses hit the road for a Canadian and European tour this week. Check out a full list of dates below.
