Snapshots Finale Festival at Richmix

Snapshots are hosting their final festival of the year at Richmix to celebrate East London in its Olympic year on the Saturday, July 21.

The all day festival will highlight the best of Snapshots events as well as the best of Richmix events over the past year, with two exhibitions, film screenings, a family workshop, a theatre show, talks, discussions, live music and much more.

To kick things off there will be a marketplace full to the brim with stalls from independent designers, craft experts, food connoisseurs, bookstalls and artisans selling tidbits and trinkets. There will be Olympic themed cocktails and non-alcoholic cocktails for the little ones. Alongside the market, Allsortz will be showcasing the very best of their monthly open-mic sessions.

Two exhibitions will also explore different aspects of East London. The Mezzanine Gallery will present The East End of Islam, a black and white photographic exploration of the Muslim community in Tower Hamlets and their relationship with the East London Mosque, whereas the Café Gallery has been given over to Brazilian Artists as part of Rio Occupation London. Rio Occupation London will see 30 ground breaking Rio artists occupy the vibrant streets, stages and squares of London during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games working collaboratively across the capital with London based artists and organisations.

As well as all that, when the market stalls all pack down there will be a community meal where attendees can either bring a dish or donate £1. Whilst you eat why not enjoy Sport Relief Does Glee Club 2012 Young and Talented Theatre School who will be performing Viva Eastender. The Olympic Cabaret will feature food, drink, a live band, and performances from the very best of young East London talent; this cabaret will be the culmination in a yearlong project funded by the National Lottery.

Finally the festival will be rounded off the festival then by heading to our main space to catch a lively performance from Britain’s rising young star Soumik Datta and Jason Singh.
