As a rapper, producer, actor, entrepreneur and, these days, a gardener, he’s frequently regarded as one of the most multi-faceted personas in hip-hop.

After becoming widely known for frequent guest spots on the releases of his mentor and fellow rapper Dr. Dre, along with the success of his aforementioned debut, Snoop enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame. A string of top 10 hits ensued, including the likes of ‘Gin and Juice’ and ‘Who Am I?’. Subsequent collaborations with Pharrell Williams of N*E*R*D in the form of ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ and ‘Beautiful’ have only served to raise his profile further.

Snoop, like so many of the key figures in modern hip-hop, has had his fair share of controversies in recent times. These, however, pale into insignificance when compared to Snoop’s illustrious career and his insurmountable contribution to the development and popularisation of rap music.
