Explore the best of what Egypt has to offer

Egypt is an assault on the senses. From historical sites, desert landscapes and the smell of shisha and the Ancient Kingdom will leave you wanting to come back again and again.

Egypt has possibly the most well preserved and largest amount of historical artefacts in the world. The country’s 6,000 years of history have many people baffled about where to start, but it’s Egypt’s focal point, The Pyramids of Giza, which are the primary draw for most tourists. Spectacular during sunrise or sunset, the quirky after dark show lights up the pyramids in an abundance of colours where you learn more about their fascinating history from the orator.

The last surviving structure of the Seven Wonders of the World isn’t the only showpiece the country has to offer. Head south to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings to discover ancient tombs and a plethora of burial sites for some of the most important rulers of ancient Egypt, including the most famous of them all: Tutankhamun. The temple of Queen Hatshepsut shouldn’t be missed either as it seems to rise out of the desert when viewed from afar.

Once you’re all templed out other activities on offer include a relaxing Felucca ride down the Nile, wandering around the town of Aswan, and the ascent up Mt Sinai to witness the breathtaking sunrise from the top – one of the best views in Egypt!

Red Sea Egypt

Not to just be treated as a stop off location, exploring Cairo is a must. The city has a multitude of attractions from mosques to bazaars to the world famous Egyptian museum that houses more than 100,000 relics from ancient Egypt. Even if you’re not one for wandering around a museum on holiday, the Egyptian museum is one of the best and most important museums in the world, so do yourself a favour and step inside and prepare to be amazed.

To unwind whilst in Egypt a visit to Dahab on the Red Sea is recommended. Here, you’ll find some of the best snorkelling and scuba diving on the planet. If you don’t fancy plunging into the depths amongst the fishes then chill out on a on the shore until the sunsets and you can take advantage of the fantastic nightlife.

Experience all this and more on the 15-day Ultimate Egypt tour with prices starting from £233 with Travel Talk Tours.
