Steve Bug – Gunslingers & Greenhorns Single Review
This month marks the return of Berlin-based label Poker Flat, with their ninth compilation album, Gunslingers & Greenhorns. The two-disc release will offer both new and old material from Poker Flat’s label roster, with the first CD home to 10 fresh, unmixed tracks, including exclusives from newcomers Tom Taylor and Gareth Whitehead as well as Alland Byallo’s ‘One of the Ones’. It’s a strong selection from some of the finest in the business, as gunslingers like Steve Bug, Nick Harris and Ian Pooley meet greenhorns like Daniel Dexter, James What and many more, to take you on a whistle stop tour deep into the Wild West of modern house and techno.
Featuring producers like Adultnapper, Roland Appel, Steve Bug & Clé, Nick Harris, Sebastian San and Ribn, there‘s more than enough quality to choose from.
CD 2 is a mix from the Poker Flat sheriff himself, Steve Bug. Growing up in Germany’s techno and acid-house heyday, his love for a perfect groove is as apparent now as it was back then. The Bug takes us on a real trek across scenic landscapes and rocky terrain as he mixes together 16 tracks including a further six new exclusives.
To celebrate this huge release, a very special Poker Flat showcase has been announced to take part in London for the very first time. The exclusive release party will be held at a secret warehouse, where Steve Bug will be joined by a range of acts including Ovum chief Josh Wink and 2011 star M A N I K.
