Swedish House Mafia Collaborate With Absolut Vodka
In an all-Swedish collaboration, Absolut Vodka have commissioned recent visitors to Australian shores, Swedish House Mafia (Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello) to write a bespoke piece of music for their forthcoming US advertising campaign.
Following in the footsteps of Spike Jonze, Cee-Lo Green and Jay-Z, as well as previous works by Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, this latest pairing with Swedish House Mafia marks more than 30 years of creative partnerships between Absolut Vodka and leading artists in music, art and fashion.
The track, entitled ‘Greyhound’, is a high octane instrumental and is available to download now. A future live anthem, Sebastian Ingrosso picks up the theme: “When we played ‘Greyhound’ for the first time, it was in front of 20,000 fans at Madison Square Garden, and the reaction was amazing! It gave us goose bumps.”
On the live front, Swedish House Mafia have just wowed audiences around the country when they bought their explosive live show to Australia for the very first time to headline the Future Music Festival tour. July 14th 2012 sees Swedish House Mafia complete a historic first when they headline a gargantuan 9 hour ‘One Night Stand’ show in front of 65,000 people at the Milton Keynes National Bowl in the UK.
The band have also confirmed that, as well DJ producer of the moment Calvin Harris and 17 year old pop/house producer Madeon, they have added legendary DJ Pete Tong and fellow Swede Alesso as special guests to this already extraordinary show. Swedish House Mafia will join an enviable list of music legends that have headlined the National Bowl including Oasis, Green Day, Metallica, Eminem and Foo Fighters.
