Swing High And Swim Low At Thunderbird Park
Thunderbird Park is for friends, family and colleagues to experience the abundance of activities available in a flourishing green open space. Whether you have family visiting, you’re travelling with friends, you’re planning a team building exercise or you’re just feeling active, it can keep everyone on their toes.
New for 2016 is the Canyon Flyer Zipline – the largest zipline canopy tour in Australia that sees participants strapped into a harness 60 metres above Cedar Creek Canyon. With a total of seven ziplines zigzagging through the trees, this adventure lasts three hours with just 10 people per tour. To get to the departure point, you can enjoy a 4WD experience through the forest.
While ziplining through the canopy takes no effort, the Tree Top Challenge is a bit more…challenging. Testing your fitness with a healthy dose of exhilaration, this high ropes course has over 100 jungle games including 11 flying foxes, ladders and suspended bridges. The course takes around three-and-a-half hours to complete, but when you pay for the course once, you can use it over and over again during your stay.
The 112 hectares of Thunderbird Park and Cedar Creek Lodges encourages every visitor to get in touch with nature. There is a multitude of natural rock pools filled with clear water that’s travelled down from the mountains, which are perfect for swimming, sunbathing and relaxing on a hot day.
You’re also welcome to explore Cedar Creek by bushwalking. Located within the Gold Coast Hinterland, you can immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the national parks and forests with giant fig trees, towering eucalyptus and tropical palms.
This natural environment attracts some amazing wildlife, including koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and platypus, as well as wild birds that you can feed from the palm of your hand! If that wasn’t enough, you can explore the bush and even the highlands on horse riding trails that last up to two hours.
Whoever you come with and whatever you do, Thunderbird Park is an amazing place to experience the nature of Queensland.
