Tenacious D ‘Rize’ From The Dead With 3rd Album

Back from the dead after years out, Tenacious D have announced on their website the release of their widely-anticipated new album, ‘Rize of the Fenix’, in May 2012. Rize of the Fenix, the band’s first studio album in over six years is the third album from the group and is the follow-up to 2006’s The Pick of Destiny and 2001’s critically acclaimed platinum debut album Tenacious D. Sounds specifically like the last name of the protagonist from video game Gears Of War, which is something all fans would agree is a good thing.

Tenacious D just announced their first American tour date, a Memorial Day performance in Washington at the Sasquatch Festival. Stay tuned for what looks like more major announcements coming from the forever loved Tenacious D headquarters. ‘Rize of the Fenix’ will be available everywhere May 2012.
