The Best Beach Bars In The World
For most of us, a holiday or travelling from country to country will, at some point, feature a sunkissed beach of beautiful blue waters and golden sands. And, if you’re clever, a beachside bar that you can easily slope off to, grab a cold, refreshing drink and escape from the blistering heat for a minute or two. With such astonishing relaxation on offer, we thought we’d take a look at the best beach bars in the world, and all they have to offer – even if it is just sun loungers, awesome bar staff and ocean views.
Ku De Ta, Bali
You are welcome to lounge, dance and dine within the tropical setting of Ku De Ta, on the paradise island of Bali. Red parasols contrast the deep green lawn, turquoise blue waters and bright yellow sun, but the whole area works seamlessly together to create a hospitable environment you can enjoy over a meal with a lover or cocktails with friends. The Balinese hospitality is five-star and the food to the highest standard you can expect, from the dumplings to Wagyu rump. When day turns to night, the venue becomes lively and vibrant with resident DJs playing disco and chill-out to recreate the Balinese atmosphere.
Duke’s Waikiki, Honolulu
A local favourite, Duke’s is located on the sands of the famous Waikiki Beach, where you can capture sweeping ocean views, the freshest seafood in Hawaii and a typical Aloha spirit. At the Barefoot Bar, you can sip on a range of different cocktails and the signature Duke’s Mai Tai – Hawaiian juices with two different types of rum and orange curacao – or grab a juicy burger before heading off towards the distant Diamond Head, or just sit back and enjoy the live music entertainment.
Experimental Beach Ibiza, Ibiza
Not only does this beach bar feature powder blue sunbeds spread across a clean white beach and fresh salads and fish, it’s also only open between April and September, making it a summer hotspot. Available for lunch and dinner, Experimental Beach Ibiza is located on Las Salinas and serves share cocktails, sangria and fresh juice before the most glorious sunset on the island. If you’ve run out of things to wear, there’s even a clothing and accessories boutique, aptly named Treasure Chest.
Sunset Pearl, Thailand
Renowned for its weekend sessions and epic sunsets, Sunset Pearl sits on the coast of Ko Phangan, which you may recognise as the location for the notorious Full Moon Parties. The deck reaches out to the ocean so customers can lie back on actual double beds and stare out towards the horizon. Drinks are a little pricier than elsewhere on the island, but you can’t beat the refreshment, service or view. The bar is a little secluded, so drive/cycle towards OK Bungalows and walk just a short way towards the beach to find this gorgeous saloon.
Ty Coch Inn, Wales
One that may surprise a few, Ty Coch Inn earns its place amongst the best beach bars in the world. Found in the village of Porthdinllaen in northwest Wales, it’s a pub more than a bar, serving cider and bitter alongside modest pies, jacket potatoes and sandwiches, but boasts an excellent position with the sea to the front, hills to the back, and sunset views across the Irish Sea. Sailing boats are dotted about on the shore and the water is actually a striking blue – a rare sight in the UK.
