If you come to Brisbane, looking for something which doesn’t feel like the usual backpacker (doesn’t even look like it), in a fantastic location where you have shopping, coffee, park and the valley right at your doorstep…have only double or single rooms (don’t we all love privacy) with even own kitchens and bathrooms available….with a patio/garden/BBQ available for those nice Australian nights… this is the place! Rob and Sue are absolute stars, not to speak of Michelle (daughter) who helps out in the meantime. They even wanted to help us moving! Ok, you have a minimum stay of 2weeks, but if you work, need time off, or just looking for something long term like we did, this was the best alternative we could find in Brisbane and we tried several. Enjoy your stay here!!! Miriam & Ralph from Germany

This is a great place. I am a retired, female teacher in my fifties and was a bit worried about budget places as I know some are magnets for rowdy youths and drunken revellers. Fortunately, the Deck lives up to its publicity. It is meticulously clean, quiet and comfortable and full of terrific people from many backgrounds. It was just what I needed. It is within walking distance of the city and has loads of charm, a big garden downstairs with comfy chairs for lounging in the sun and laundry and cooking facilities. Most importantly, the proprietors (Sue and Bob) are fabulous, generous people , who go out of their way to make you feel at home, especially if you treat the other guests with consideration and abide by house-rules. I was there for over a month and was really impressed. I will certainly stay there again next year if they’ll have me. Babalu
Wonderful Accomodation

When I was in Australia for six and a half months this accommodation was the best I have ever seen. Its more than just great that you have the opportunity to watch DVDs and to use your own fridge. In addition to that you can have your privacy for less money. I was surprised that I got so much for less.
Own privacy for less

This was one of the best Hotels, I stayed with my boyfriend. We paid for a double room (double bed) the same price as we did pay in a working hostel – there we were sleeping in a 6 dorm! The cheap price in a big town like Brisbane was one of the best fact about the deck. A very good place to be in Brisbane for a few weeks: own privacy, cheap, supermarket around corner, clubs in the area, short walk into downtown and many restaurant and bars to work.
