The Kooks Announce Melbourne Venue Upgrade Due to Overwhelming Demand
Due to a quick sell out of tickets, and overwhelming demand for more from those who missed out, The Kooks have announced they are moving to a larger venue in Melbourne to accommodate more fans.
The Kooks will now be performing at Festival Hall on Wednesday 4th Jan 2012. Younger Melbourne fans of the indie chart-toppers will also be delighted to know that Festival Hall will be an ‘all ages’ show with licensed and unlicensed areas.
The Kooks third album ‘Junk Of The Heart’ released in September, sees them consolidating their position as a bona fide album band with trademark breeziness and catchy hooks. It follows the band’s multi-platinum debut, ‘Inside In/Inside Out’ (2006) which peaked at number two in the UK Album Charts. Their follow up,’Konk'(2008)reached the coveted no. 1 spot and went platinum.
Having sold out two previous Australian tours, including a sell-out night at the Hordern Pavilion Sydney, The Kooks are eager to play to Australian audiences once more.
All tickets purchased for the original Palace Theatre show remain valid for entry to Festival Hall. New release tickets for the Festival Hall show will be on sale from midday Tuesday 22nd November.
This will be the first all ages headline show that The Kooks have done in Melbourne. Previous headline shows sold out out at lightning speed and The Kooks at Festival Hall is more than likely to follow trend. Get in quickly to avoid missing out!
