The Plastics New Single All I Really Want
The Plastics are an indie rock quartet hailing all the way from Cape Town, South Africa. Their newest single, All I Really Want is just the beginning of their attempt at world domination. The single comes as the first since their 2012 album Pyramid, and marks the impending release of a brand new album.
Their musical offerings and work ethic has been described as innovative, guerrilla, retro rock and melody, amongst others.
All I Really Want sees the quartet head in a darker direction, with a sound clearly influenced by psych-rock vibes and the ever-popular Arctic Monkeys. The end result is a simple track with quality production and a catchy hook that hits just the right notes. While falling into the same genre as bands like The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys, The Plastics manage to not come off as a carbon copy and have left their own stamp on the genre.
All I Really Want starts with a lyrical bang that has a slow sonic build up to the chorus, the single is jam packed full of tricks, synthesizers and piano licks that all come together to create a polished quality production and retrospective feel. The Plastics are making their way to reaching a vast and impressive fan base, having recently brought their musical offerings to UK shores for their first UK dates.
