When: Thursday 26 April 8.30pm

If their 2011 demo is anything to go by The McQueens’ forthcoming EP is going to be well worth marking in the diary. The Melbourne Based Indie-rock quartet is creating beautifully atmospheric, keys-led electro in the footsteps of Foster The People and Early Coldplay” (Jack Newell, 18 Seconds Magazine). The McQueens’ music has been described as ‘deep’ and ‘epic’ (Nina Las Vegas, JJJ), ‘Dark and Brooding’ (Dan Buhagiar, JJJ), an ‘electro-pop mine field’ (Scott Owen, The Living End) and ‘A mix of Foster the People and Coldplay (before they were shit)’ (ShinyShinyNew Blog). In 2011 they finished in the top 6 for Triple J’s Unearthed High Competition. This will be The McQueens’ debut EP-long awaited after a string of demos. Joining them is Albert Salt is a popular up and coming showman in Melbourne’s Indie/Electro Scene. It is assumed that his sound, fresh and original electronic pop is the result of years of classical training, combined with a love of popular music. Often heard unaccompanied on stage, the sound created by Albert is astounding. In 2011 Albert released his first album ‘Dearest Stranger’ and was a JJJ Unearthed High Finalist. This year he will also be releasing a new EP. The McQueens and Albert Salt are joined by local act, Southpaw.
