The Tricks – Remember Me Review
If you’re sat around wondering which new indie bands are bursting on to the scene in 2012, why don’t you give London band The Tricks a try.
They certainly hit the criteria of pop-infused indie that is hot on the market right now. As the track kicks off, our ears are greeted by a few relayed guitar chords that sound reminiscent of indie-pop favourites Two Door Cinema Club.
‘Remember Me’ lures you in with the catchy guitar intro that has your ears intrigued to see what comes next. The
vocals are pleasant, it’s just the lyrics that really let the song slide.
Singing about a one night stand is never really going to stand for anything too poignant, but it seems they are just desperate to be remembered – mustn’t have put in too good a performance in the sack! I’m not entirely sure that writing this song will have them remembered for quite the right reasons.
However the track is extremely infectious and will no doubt be blasting from a late night indie joint in a town
near you in no time. Teeny Boppers in winkle pickers world over shall unite to dance the night away, take a wasted girl home and wind up in a situation similar to their new favourite song. Sick.
With fans including the likes of a certain Johnny Depp, the boys must certainly be doing something right. If the king of cool himself remembers you guys, need you really sing begging us to do the same?
