Things to do in Busselton
With the 1.8km jetty, most of the action in Busselton revolves around the water. If the coastal town is in your travel plans, here are 5 things you simply have to do in Busselton.
1. Dive The Busselton Jetty
The Busselton Jetty is striking from above the water, but it has created an underwater world of coral, colourful fish and invertebrates that’s a paradise for first-time and experienced scuba divers. The Dive Shed offer boat dives at $80pp and eco tours at $75pp to the Busselton Jetty, so you can meet the Decorator Crabs, Dhu Fish and Baldchin Gropers that call it home.
2. Whale Watching In Geographe Bay
Between September and December, charter boats leave Busselton to go in search of the migrating whales in Geographe Bay, including some of the 35,000 Humpback whales. The whales and their calves rest at the bay while travelling south from the warmer waters of the north, and Southern Rights and Blue whales have also been spotted cruising nearby. A whale watching tour lasts about two-and-a-half hours and costs $75pp.

3. Skydive Onto The Beach
Daredevils can find the number one adrenaline activity right here in Busselton. Southern Skydivers can take you up to 15,000ft for 66 seconds of freefall back down to earth. Landing on the beach, you receive a warm welcome with a free drink at the beachfront bar – chances are you’re gonna need it after that! A tandem skydive costs from $339.
4. Cycling The Beach Bike Paths
The coastal Geographe Bay Road runs from Busselton to Dunsborough so you needn’t lose sight of the beautiful blue ocean while cycling. Bike hire is available at Dunsborough and Busselton from $25 for four hours. Of course, if you like a bit more adventure, Busselton’s not short of a hill or two that can really test the pressure of your tyres.
5. Just…Relax
The Busselton beach beckons you to just relax, escape from the everyday and while away the hours staring out to the ocean. Just over two hours from the WA capital of Perth, it’s the ideal place to get away from the city and explore the natural beauty of the south west.
