Towers Hill Lookout and Amphitheatre

Tower Hill was discovered to be filled with gold when Jupiter, a little boy found some in 1871 and ever since then the area has been popular with those trying their luck at mining for gold. The Amphitheatre every night puts a screening of the film Ghosts after Dark that details the history of Charter Towers.

Magnetic Island Live Entertainment

The local talent of the island have a mix of musical tastes from the powerful rock music to the easy listening of reggae and to enjoy this music live is widely available. ‘Full Moon Down Under’ is a night brought to you by Base Magnetic Island once a month and the event attracts locals and those visiting to dance through the night with performances from acts from Australia and from around the world. Also, every Wednesday at 8pm the Bufonidaes races are held, where the first toad to leave the circle wins! It’s great fun

Magnetic Island Nature Park

At the island’s nature park you have to explore the amazing trails and gaze upon the stunning views with the 36 kilometre network of walking tracks. Great bit of exercise that provides picturesque spots to stop at for picnics and breaks for those selfies and instagram snaps. Also, you can look out for the koalas, rock-wallabies, possums and the great number of wild birds as well as learn abou the Aboriginal people and their strong bond with the magnificent island.
