This Week At The Northcote Social Club Get down to the Northcote’s Social Club Band Room, widely regarded as one of the best venues in Melbourne to hear live music. With acts such as Fatti Frances, Matthew Brown and Worng the music kicks off at 8:30 with specials on jugs of beer and food available until the kitchen closes at 9:30.

Joe Pernice and Norman Blake

Glasgow-born Norman Blake and American Joe Pernice bring their collaborative project The New Mendicants to the Social Club, performing hits from each of their back catalogues including work from past projects Teenage Fanclub, Scud Mountain Boys and BMX Bandits.

The Hiding

Melbourne Quartet The Hiding arrive at the Northcote Social Club after gaining recognition in America, with their single Simple Shades Of Grey receiving medium rotation on college radio stations. Performing before jetting off to Texas to play at SXSW the Melbourne rockers will be joined by The Give and Chris Salce.

Pony Face

After launching their album ‘Hypnotised’ in front of a sold out crowd at the Social Club in 2012 Pony Face are back after a tumultuous few months. Drummer Kris Emond suffered a heart attack forcing the band to pull out of a host of summer festivals but has vowed to play some part on the night. Former bandmate Damien Fitzgerald will take up the majority of drumming duties. The gig will also feature Howl At The Moon and Heavy Beach.

A Place To Bury Strangers

New York Rock ensemble A Place To Bury Strangers appear again in Australia after a long absence in which time the band line-up has been chopped and changed with ex drummer Oliver Ackermann now fronting the group. With three full length albums already released the band boast a strong fan base and will see this tour as a chance to promote their newest full length ‘worship’, released in summer 2012.
