Follow us on Google News

There are plenty of stunning beaches and magnificent coastlines around the world, but when it comes to considering a sailing holiday, these islands have topped it as the top 10 locations for a little slice of paradise.

Santorini

Santorini is undoubtedly the jewel of the Aegean Sea that owes its popularity as a tourist hot spot to its extraordinary tale of formation. The island was initially formed from an enormous volcanic eruption that scattered lava that hardened and formed its impressive black sands and colossal cliffs. Santorini’s main village clings to these cliffs and is particularly striking in contrast to the shimmering white domes of the Grecian town houses and churches. This is truly a sight to behold, and an especially spectacular view when enjoyed from a your very own sailboat.

San Blas Islands

The San Blas Islands sit majestically off the north coast of Colombia and to the East of Panama. These paradise islands boast fine white sands and tropical palm trees that hang elegantly over the crystal blue water. The islands are relatively unexplored and out of its 365 islands, only 49 of these are inhabited by the ancient Kuna tribe. Therefore as well as an ideal spot for sailing through the tranquil waters of the Caribbean sea, the islands boast a unique heritage – of which age-old cultures and traditions continue to be practised.
