Top 5 acts you will see at Family Piknik this August
With Family Piknik bearing down on us, we decided to take a look at our top 5 acts to see at the festival. In no particular order, here are the names we are anticipating big performances from in Montpellier this year:
1. Cristoph
The burly Geordie lad, known for his rise to fame via the route of unadulterated, electronic-influenced sound. Now working closely with one of the industry’s most creative artists in the form of Eric Prydz; big ‘Cris’ is widely regarded as one of the UK’s top production talents and is ultimately respected for his works by many.
2. Black Coffee
The powerful figure of Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, otherwise known as ‘Black Coffee’ has taken the world by storm in recent years. Renowned for his individual style; a fusion of deep house, afro beats and raw electronic music that is incomparable to any other artist of his stature globally, his performances carry with them an air of wizardry. Black Coffee is not only an ambassador for modern dance music, but an ambassador for fashion, art and humanity itself.
3. Tim Green
Another relentlessly unafraid artist with relevance to creativity, Tim Green is well known for blurring the lines between house and techno. Frequently taking you on a journey through the exploratory ether of undefined electronic dance music, Green is a true champion of binaural adventure at its very finest.
4. Patrice Bäumel
One of the most refined names in electronic music for well over a decade, a journeyman who’s sound is evident of expansive cultural knowledge throughout. Patrice is quite simply revered by many in the industry for his individuality and raw talent. His performances are always that of standout proportions, so you’re always in for a treat.
5. Miss Kittin
From Techno, to Chicago, Acid, Detroit and then some. Caroline Hervé, also known as Miss Kittin has worked alongside the most influential names in the business throughout her career; this is something that is reflected in her work by keeping that level of company. One of the most understated at times by some but such an exciting talent to witness, Miss Kittin will definitely deliver things you thought you knew inside out in a way you’ve never heard them before.
