Top 5 Bali Sunset Views
Bali – widely known as Island of the Gods, it is clear to see why when you first find yourself sitting, literally awe struck as the sky opens into a symphony of reds and oranges and the sun sets in Bali. Here’s Inner Temple Retreats’ review of Bali’s Top 5 places to spend those magical 20 minutes at the end of the day.
La Laguna – Berawa
Think bohemian gypsy garden party, clever placement of dozens of Indonesia’s antique wooden Joglos make you feel like Alice in Bali Wonderland. The newest venture from the already renowned La Plancha in Legian and La Favella in Seminyak is one of Bali’s newest and we dare say most photographed sunset spots. Accessible via a new road just on the corner of Batu Belig it’s also attractive to beach strollers who can wander in over an impressive timber and rope bridge. This place is definitely the hero of Berawa beach.
Kommune Resort – Keramas
Just two years ago only the surfers knew or cared about Keramas on Bali’s east coast. But now the secret is out. This place is an easy drive just 20 minutes past Sanur using the Ida Bagus Mantram and although this place is totally geared up for surf lovers – boasting Bali’s best right hand wave, it is in fact a spacious, clean, and really well-managed beach bar and resort. The menu is full and fabulous, reasonably priced bar snacks, dinners, and a full selection of drinks. The scenery includes a pool, the Keramas surf break and everything set up and ready for you to enjoy the sunset.
El Kabron – The Bukit Peninsular
A trip to the Bukit for either surfing, sunbathing on Bali’s best looking white sand beaches would end
perfectly with a secluded sundowner at El Kabron. A vibe-y Spanish atmosphere with DJ beats, cool people and infinity pool set high on the cliff tops overlooking the vast Indian Ocean. This place is
pretty spectacular at any time of day, but really comes into its own at sunset. Enjoy the tapas
sharing plates and soak up the view.
Potato Head – Seminyak
By now this super-sized beach bar has become a Seminyak institution. On arrival the absolute awesomeness of this venue is unmistakable; a semi-circular, towering façade of colourfully mismatched 18th Century teak window shutters, collected from across the Indonesian archipelago. If you are looking for a quiet evening, this might not be right for you, however with three different restaurant menus to choose from and pages and pages of creative and quirky cocktails, it is a definite must-see for anyone seeking sophistication at sunset while visiting Bali.
Old Man’s – Canggu
A popular and comfy hangout at the end of Batu Bolong overlooking Old Man’s surf break this place is favoured by the local expats as much as the budget travellers and endless summer surf seekers. A monthly market for vegetables, artisan food and clothing pops up places this venue firmly in the heart of the Canggu community. On the weekends once the sun has set the music is turned up and a youthful and predominantly Australian crowd max out and enjoy the beer garden atmosphere.
