Follow us on Google News

Australia is an exciting destination for those looking to spend extensive time in one place. The Working Holiday Visa allows young people (at least 18 but not yet 31) of certain nationalities to spend their time working and on holiday in Australia for up to a year.

Some farming jobs offer WOOFING where you exchange your hard work for accommodation, meals etc. Always be sure to enquire with the employer how they are going to be compensating you for your work as not everyone will be happy with just a hot meal and a bed for the night.

If you are looking to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity, here are some popular jobs for you to consider.

Farm Work

No prior experience is necessary to help out on the many farms in Australia. You will be able to find farms surrounding most of the major cities. Here you can help out with horses, cattle, and sheep. It’s also a great way of fulfilling your childhood dream of becoming a cowboy!

Fruit Picking

Fruit picking is an attractive job in Australia for those on a working holiday visa. Not only will you be able to make money, you can also spend your days out in the fields eating delicious fruit. For any backpacker travelling through the country, fruit picking is a great way to earn some money and is also good for discovering the Australian mainland.

Sailboat Worker

As most Australian cities are located on the coast, you can easily find a job in the sailing industry. You do not need many skills beforehand, as you will get the proper training when you arrive. This is a wonderful way to see the beauty of the Australian coast with tropical islands, all while getting paid.

Surf Instructor

You may already want to have prior knowledge in order to obtain a job quickly as a surf instructor. However, once you do, you will be able to earn money teaching people something you love. A good idea is to get your instructor’s training before coming to Australia so that you can focus on applying for jobs when you do arrive.

These are just a few of the many options that are open in Australia for those looking to come on a working holiday visa.
