Airlie Beach is a seaside resort town in Queensland’s Whitsunday area, 20 kilometres northeast of Proserpine and 110 kilometres north of Mackay. It is well-known as a jumping off point for tours of the Great Barrier Reef and the Whitsunday Islands. With a land area of around 19.5 km², this town is home to a population of over 10,000.

Climate

Airlie Beach has moderate and pleasant weather all year due to its subtropical climate. The spring, summer, and fall months (November–May) have an average temperature of about 31° C. Temperatures between 16 to 23 degrees Celsius characterise the winter season (June, July, and October), when the weather is mild and agreeable. The month of July is the coolest, while December is the hottest. The month with the most precipitation is February, while the month with the least is September.
