Tramlines Festival 2016
Not all of us fancy sweaty tents, questionable food outlets and adorning a pair of wellies so this summer why not escape to the city? With mud at an absolute minimum, Sheffield’s Tramlines is the UK’s biggest inner-city music festival and it keeps getting bigger.
Now in its eighth year the 2016 edition has crammed in over 250 artists playing across three days including established acts such as Jurassic 5 and Dizzee Rascal as well as a smattering of new talent like 2015 Mercury Music Prize nominee, C Duncan, and Laura J Martin.
The diversity of the city is recognised in a truly eclectic line-up that takes in indie upstarts, Catfish and the Bottlemen, classic funk with George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic and the fresh vibes of local boy Toddla T. Venues are scattered across the city meaning this a great chance to explore the People’s Republic of South Yorkshire. From the 15,000 capacity main stage at Ponderosa Park to the more sedate surroundings of the Cathedral and The Folk Forest in leafy Hunters Bar as well as more established venues like The Leadmill and O2 Academy.
Weekend tickets are still available from tramlines.gigantic.com for £42 plus booking fee, seriously good value.
When: 22nd – 24th July 2016
