Tycho At Hi-Fi Bar

Tycho will tour Australia for the first time officially as a three-piece ensemble after the release of their album ‘Awake’ in 2014. Presented by Novel, Tycho will fill the walls of Melbourne’s Hi-Fi Bar with their distinctly ambient and nostalgic melodies on 8th January.

Tycho was the pseudonym of Scott Hansen for over a decade, but in an effort to capture the energy the live band had on the road whilst touring his first album ‘Dive’, Hansen collaborated with Zac Brown (guitar, bass) and Rory O’Connor (drums) to produce Tycho’s second LP, ‘Awake’.

Hansen, who grew up amongst the picturesque backdrops of Colorado, Wyoming and Montana, attributes the familiar sense of the album to inspiration he garnered from his connection to such places. However, ‘Awake’, with the addition of Brown and O’Conner harmonizes the past with originality, reaching a distinctively, innovative Tycho sound.

Support on the night will come from RAT AND CO, a local best kept secret who have just released their second album, ‘Samurai’.
