UNKLE Announce New Single & Album
UNKLE Announce New Single & Album James Lavelle’s indie/rock/electronic dance outfit UNKLE has announced a new album and single.
The album will be named The Road: Part II/Lost Highway, and is the second part in a three part series of releases. The release will feature 22 tracks across 2CDs.
As is the nature of UNKLE releases, Lavelle will once again collaborate with a host of creatives including The Clash’s Mick Jones, Dhani Harrison, Editors’ frontman Tom Smith, Queens Of The Stone Age’s Jon Theodore, Troy Van Leeuwen and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – as well as spoken-word contributions from legendary Scottish actor Brian Cox (who used to be Lavelle’s landlord) and Stanley Kubrick’s widow Christiana, who leant her trust and voice to Lavelle following his acclaimed exhibition to the seminal director. The two names who crop up most throughout the record, however, are rising West London singer and producer Miink and experimental rapper Elliott Power.
Both those acts feature on the first single, ‘Ar.mour’, which sees Lavelle take inspiration from the genre that opened up so many doors for him: trip-hop. Check the video for the new single here and watch out for the album release date which is on the 29th of March.
