US Beatboxer Taylor Mcferrin Heads To The Espy – 14th Jan The Espy are proud to present for the first time in Australia, Taylor McFerrin.
Taylor McFerrin is a “one-man show” combining his skills as a producer and performer to build songs from scratch. Vocals, Fender Rhodes, synthesizers, samples, and beat boxing are meshed together in his Brooklyn studio drawing from roots deep in ‘60s soul to create a new vision of future hip-hop.
Taylor has also toured internationally sharing the stage with artists such as Dego and 2000 Black @ the BOCA party in Italy, Mark De Clive Lowe @ the Jazz a Vienne festival in France, and Karizma at the Southport Weekender in the UK. The Rude Movements Vinyl Release of Taylor’s first EP- “The Broken Vibes EP” in 2006 gained international attention thanks to the title track. “Broken Vibes” debuted on the highly influential Benji B’s BBC Radio show and has been on heavy rotation on Gilles Peterson BBC World Wide Radio. The track was also selected by Garth Trinidad of Los Angeles’ highly acclaimed radio show “Chocolate City” on KCRW for his The Fader’s Suite 903 Series. MTV also took notice of Taylor’s skills and used his beats in promotions for the 2005 Video Music Awards.
