
US COMEDIAN KEN JEONG AUSTRALIAN TOUR
Ken Jeong is a Korean-American actor commedian and Physician
Best known for his role as the comedic gangster Leslie Chow in The Hangover film franchise. He is touring Australia for the first time which will include a performance at AAMI Just For Laughs Sydney in November.
Background
After completing undergraduate work and getting a medical degree at the University of North Carolina, he pursued his interest in comedy while finishing his residency in internal medicine. He won the Big Easy Laff-Off and the judges encouraged Jeong to move to Los Angeles to pursue his entertainment dreams.
“The Funniest Doctor In America”!
While working as a practicing doctor in LA, he performed at the famed Improv and Laugh Factory comedy clubs. These side gigs gave him the experience he needed to secure higher profile gigs and he soon appeared on The View and earned the titled of “The Funniest Doctor In America”! His Medical School counselor told him, “you will be a great doctor because you are a great comedian, and you will be a great comedian because you are a great doctor”.
Comedian doctor rising star
Ken has appeared on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, The Office and Boston Legal. His feature debut as a wisecracking doctor in Judd Apatow’s 2007 hit Knocked Up, opened more doors for the rising star. After filming that movie, he went back to the hospital to resign as a doctor. He went on to land roles in films including Pineapple Express, All About Steve and starred in his own TV show, Dr Ken.
He landed his breakout film role in 2009 in the hit movie The Hangover and is a regular on the hit television series Community.
