There’s No Reason Not To Party With America
The United States of America may be currently entering a period of time of being governed by a piece of ham, but lest we forget… they’re still people.
With 46% of the tools who didn’t vote leaving it up to the rednecks, it’s time to pay them a visit and spend some time having truthful debates about just why they should vote next time. So when it comes to visiting America, we suggest the best way to have this frank conversation with this 46% is by sitting down in a field, having a few beers and listening to some awesome music, whilst losing your soul to the Festival Gods (and of course having that little chat).
Possibly one of the most famous music events in modern history, Woodstock Festival, which took place in the famous summer of 69, paved the way for festivals the world over to embrace a few days of freedom whilst appreciating some great music. Fast forward to the present day and Coachella is the festival the US is most famous for. Having gone the way of Glastonbury and turned into a runway fashion show for instafamouses, it’s time to re-educate about what else the USA has to offer in terms of great festivals.
Although America may be responsible for 90% of the world’s sugary pop princesses, they know their dance music, so it comes as no surprise that Ultra Music Festival 2017 in Miami has one sweet line up. Taking place from 24th – 26th March just after Miami Music Week, Ultra Music Festival will see the likes of Justice, The Prodigy and Major Lazer headline the event alongside DJs such as Steve Aoki, Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buren, David Guetta and Carl Cox. I think you may agree, that’s one pretty mental line-up.
One for seasoned festival goers, if you haven’t been to Lollopalooza in Chicago as yet, then you definitely need to tick this one off. Happening in August each year, previous line-ups have included Lana Del Ray, The 1975, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Disclosure to name a mere handful. The four day festival is packed to the brim with A-Listers, so it’s a great way to see some of the best acts of our time in one fell swoop. Think of it as a celeb zoo.
For muso’s who truly want to immerse themselves amongst their own kind, South x Southwest presents the perfect opportunity to be with your people as you take in all the up and coming talent you can from all over the world. The 2017 edition of the festival will take place from 10th – 19th March in Austin, Texas – so it’s also a great excuse to see a slice of the real America!
One for the tastemakers, California’s Hard Summer Festival is one that will have you weeping with joy. With names such as Aluna George, Dizzee Rascal, Flosstradamus, Fat Joe and Felix Da Housecat featuring on the 2016 rosta, you can guarantee you’ll have a good time at this “LA style” outfit.
So I’ll leave you with the decision, but as you can see there’s not a lot of good reason not to party with America.
Stay tuned for all 2017 line up announcements.
