Visit Bali For The Ubud Food Festival
If the striking landscape, impeccable culture and beautiful sunsets aren’t enough to bring you to Southeast Asia, the food certainly is. From the street food cooked before your very eyes to restaurant cuisine handmade by famous chefs, the fresh produce, unique ingredients and traditional recipes are out of this world.
Whether celebrating these culinary delights or introducing yourself to them for the very first time, the Ubud Food Festival will make your tastebuds dance. Making its inaugural leap into the food calendar on 5th – 7th June 2015, it will celebrate the delicious and diverse flavours of Indonesian cuisine, with help from local and international chefs. Sift your way through yellow rice, red chillies and bamboo shoots during cooking demos, panel sessions, night markets, food tours, tastings and workshops, to discover how to create and present dishes to perfection. Brought to you by the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, this new foodie sibling will not disappoint in colour, flavour and aroma.
The Ubud Food Festival will be complimented by its surroundings. As you sample new and exciting fare, the rice paddies and steep ravines of the foothills of the Gianyar region make the perfect backdrop. As Bali’s culture spot, Ubud is a hotbed for restaurants, cafes, museums, galleries and streets of shops selling creations by the local craftsmen. It’s also the perfect location to relax with a famous Balinese massage in a luxury spa, or visit the cheeky residents of the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. In this conserved environment, you can watch an estimated 605 long-tailed macaques in their natural habitat.
The Ubud Food Festival is just another reason to visit Bali and explore this enriching part of the world. So grab your knife and fork and taste real Indonesia in the picturesque setting of Ubud.
