What Are The Top Gaming Smartphones Of 2014?

Follow us on Google News

You can do virtually anything on a mobile phone in 2014, whether you like to play your favourite tunes or watch the latest films – but gaming is clearly one of the most popular activities. This article will review three of the finest gaming smartphones, both for playing a simple roulette game at an online casino or a game with sophisticated high grade graphics like Frontline Commando 2.

Samsung Galaxy S4 (£500)

This is a good ‘all-rounder’ smartphone when it comes to gaming, featuring good screen display, processor, battery and operating system. The screen is five inches in size, and is Super AMOLED and fully HD, while you get a quad-core Snapdragon processor and the cutting edge Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS. These are not the most individually impressive gaming specs, but together they mean that this smartphone is equally equipped to handle games ranging from roulette or blackjack at a casino site to the top-line graphics in an arcade racing favourite like Asphalt 6: Adrenaline.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (£599)

If you consider that a big screen is the single most important feature of a gaming phone, then the Galaxy Note 3 from Samsung may be the one for you. The screen here is a mighty 5.7 inches, again HD Super AMOLED, and also boasts a Snapdragon processor with 2.3 GHz of power. You also get the S Pen stylus with this phone, which can be great for those games that require delicate touch screen gaming – for example a slot game at an online or a mobile casino. This phone also has a healthy amount of internal storage space, 32GB, so you can add as many games as you would like without running out of room.

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact (£520)

This doesn’t have the biggest screen, at just 4.7 inches, but there are a couple of other areas where it really does excel as a gaming phone. These are processing power and battery life, with the smooth running Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and a battery lasting an entire day, meaning it’s great for a quick burst of slots gaming or all day spent playing something like Frontline Commando 2 or a similar role-playing epic. Furthermore, the screen may be small, but image quality is crystal clear, at 720p, so those classy graphics will not be lost. Finally, the small size makes it a comfortable phone to hold when you are gaming.

LG G2 (£279)

This boasts a 5.7-inch screen, with full HD, and a fine quad-core 2.26 GHz processor. This ensures that games look great and play smoothly – whether it is something like roulette at an online casino or a movie-inspired game like Edge of Tomorrow. The latter features high end graphics, but this is a phone to cope with them admirably, and the superb battery (3,000 mAh) means that it can cope with a longer, more complex game of this type – as well as a late night session of online poker – without failing. The LG G2 is a solid, overall gaming package in a single smartphone.

iPhone 6 Plus (£619)

It’s not cheap, but this has the biggest screen of any iPhone model yet, at 5.5 inches, making it a rival to Android smartphones when it comes to meeting the demands of detailed graphics – like arcade racing game Asphalt 8: Airborne. The screen is also LCD, with pixel density of 1080 x 1920, so the visual quality matches the size, and the Li-Po battery gives you 2915 mAh, making it a phone that will deliver for either a quick casino slot game like Soccer Safari found through a resource like www.mobilecasino.mobi, or a lengthy bout at the poker tables. One the downside, the processor is only dual, rather than quad-core, but this is still a phone with much to recommend it from a gaming perspective.

Overall, the Galaxy S4 may still be the best gaming phone overall, simply because it doesn’t have any real weak spots, being solid in all areas. If comfort or screen size are particularly important to you, one of the other two on this list will suit better, but otherwise, the S4 is the gaming phone to get.
