Penfolds Magill Estate Heritage Experience

Although the summer festival is over there is no need to hibernate during the cooler months in Adelaide as the temperature of the city will provide you with plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. It would also not be Adelaide if there was not a festival or two during winter.

Artistic Exhibits

Winter is the time when the South Australian Living Artists Festival comes alive. During August you will find exhibits of artists at open art studios, galleries, and unconventional places like shops, restaurants, wineries, public spaces, and offices.

Winter wonderland in Adelaide

Adelaide’s favourite beach transforms into a winter wonderland in July and therefore strapping on skates and gliding over the ice while watching the sea will be an unforgettable experience. A lot of restaurants provide heated outdoor spaces and an atmosphere to enjoy the beach during mid-winter.

Adelaide Cultural Precinct

Spending the cold winter days exploring the Adelaide Cultural precinct is a great experience. The Art Gallery of South Australia, State Library, and the South Australian Museum are all located along the North Terrace. A host of must-see events are held at various venues every winter.

Explore the Historic Semaphore

Catch a train to the historic seaside village of Semaphore which is just 20 minutes away from the Central Business District. Explore the homeware stores, boutiques, restaurants, cafes along the Semaphore Road while you are there.

On the foreshore of the city, you will find a children’s playground, miniature steam train, a mini golf course and sideshows.

Go retro

Trendy café and vintage shops are some must-see places in Croydon. It is just a short train ride away and about 4.2 kilometres from the Central Business District. You can check out the unique furniture in the One Small Room, gourmet pie at the Red Door Bakery and the vintage treasures at the Hype and seek.
