After impressing audiences at festivals over summer, & success with their radio single ‘If The Shoe Fits’, The Dead Leaves have a new single titled ‘Ordinary Lot’ and will lead into the bands’ forthcoming album Cities On The Sea, which was produced by Scott Horscroft (The Presets, Birds of Tokyo, The Panics) and Eric J Dubowsky (Art vs Science, Weezer), to be released in February. News.com has named The Dead Leaves as one of the 12 best new acts to to watch in 2012.

A GoodGod event like none that have come before, the monthly block party FAVELA FREAK OUT returns on Thursday March 8th with the best Brazilian music this side of Carnival; Samba Soul, Rio Rock, Sao Paulo Punk and Baile Beats. Featuring the banging 10pc Brazilian big band “Kriola Collective” with special guest vocalists Tiago de Lucca and Marcelo d’Avila bringing the vibes to the Danceteria in GoodGod’s back room for only $10 on the door. Resident DJ Gilberto do Funk and monthly special guests spin the tunes from 8pm till late with live sets of percussion and booty shaking beats.

With a sound that melds doo-wop with 60’s girl group harmonies and Pebbles’ inspired garage pop, The Fabergettes have been rapidly building a devoted fan base in their home town of Sydney and with the release of their debut EP just around the corner, 2012 looks like being The Year Of The Fab! Fronted by the sassy Nat Martin, a former choir girl in Cuthbert & the Night Walkers, The Fabergettes pricked a few ears their way following a recent stint as Triple J’s Unearthed Feature artist that saw the band praised for their infectious cocktail of doo-wop harmonies and cosmic surf licks.
