Where to Live In Australia
Australia is a huge country and therefore you’re really spoiled for choice when it comes where to live as the 6 states all have a lot to offer. Northern Australia has a rugged landscape, historic Aboriginal culture and numerous World Heritage sites. Southern Australia has shinning beaches, award winning wine and frequent summer festivals so you can imagine the dilemma.
Canberra, as the capital is an understandably popular destination for work although you don’t get very much for your money. The suburb of Goulburn is only an hour drive away and property is half the price of the inner city. There has been much development in the area over recent years meaning you will be able to find somewhere modern and stylish. There are also lots of opportunities to rent so you can see if you like the area before buying somewhere more permanent.
Sydney is another popular location with an equally large population. If the idea of city living isn’t for you, then the suburb of Kincumber is quieter yet still highly sought after. It is well liked by families and provides good local amenities including shops, bars and restaurants. You could still make the 85km journey into Sydney on the weekends if you fancied a trip to the theatre or to see museums and tourist sites.
If you prefer rural living and want to be away from the hustle and bustle then Mildura, a four hour drive from Adelaide is a quiet retreat. It is admired for its golf courses of which it has 4 and for the fabulous wine that is produced from the numerous grape farms. There are lots of buying opportunities and it is likely that property prices in the area will continue to rise meaning that property in the area is a sound investment.
Before you purchase a property remember to do some research about the area to ensure it is right for you. Though the main cities in Australia seem most appealing it can sometimes be the suburbs that have the most to offer.
