Wilderness 2016 Review
Wilderness 2016 Review BBMlive.com has been a Wilderness groupie since the festival was born back in 2011. A festival of good vibrations, sequins, wild water swimming, theatre, sock wrestling, music across every genre and dining experiences have made us fall even deeper into Wilderness addiction this year.
Wilderness 2016 Review From babies, to ravers, to oldies, to those who families who love to fest and those who like to learn new skills at festies- there is no other festival quite like this one and Wilderness 2016 was no exception.
Set in the Oxfordshire rolling hills, the festival seems spacious yet nothing too far a mission when it’s late at night. Waking up late to the sun shining, floating down to the waterfalls and lakes, swimming before stopping by the food stalls that cook up a storm from every cuisine across the globe, makes for a pretty insane English weekend.
Our poshest festival provided a Friday night of house to disco in the incredible venue of the valley with PBR Streetgang and a late announcement of Maribou State. Saturday was about chilling in the sunshine, the idyllic settings still taking our breath away. Visiting the main stage for Goldie and the Heritage Orchestra, before heading to the Peacock Bar for some serious boogie beats, and then of course back to the lights and sounds of the valley where Maxxi Soundsystem blew everyone over with the final track of Phil Collins ‘In the air tonight’.
Still clear in our mind is the view of everyone crouching down together before jumping to the stars and hugging anyone within reach as the night came to a close and the sound of the famous drums banging throughout the hills.
Wilderness never failed to amaze throughout the entire weekend, not a drop of rain was felt, only glitter in the air.
The Sunday afternoon show was stolen at the main stage by ‘Glass Animals’ who played the crowd pleasing ‘Gooey’ before showing off their new track ‘Youth’ from their latest album. The Badger tent had people seriously throwing some shapes before Goldie stole the crowd to the valley to play some old school drum and bass. As the festival came to close, Tom Middleton brought tears of nostalgia to his audience. A wizard on the decks who played the best set I have seen for years.
BBMlive is definitely counting down the days to Wilderness 2019
