Best Places To Spend Winter In Melbourne

Follow us on Google News

As the temperatures start to drop, you’ll need some hot drinks and cosy inviting surroundings to help warm you up. Sometimes a cup of tea or a hot chocolate just isn’t what you’re after – you need something with a bit more kick. Everyone appreciates a good blanket or open fire too. So just for you we’ve found the best places to spend winter in Melbourne that are ready for the cold that it brings. The perfect places to start your winter evenings while still keeping those hands and feet (and probably heads) warm. Whether it’s a mulled cider, brandy or even a heated cocktail you’re after, in warm, snug couches, you’ll find it in Melbourne on a cold winter’s eve. Winter has been made easy with these places to go to in Melbourne for perfectly warm evenings.

Madame Brussels

Quirky Madame Brussels are most definitely ready for winter. Even though they are outside on a rooftop patio and the staff are dressed in tennis outfits, they aren’t going to let a bit of cold weather stop them. Or you for that matter. They’ve got hot water bottles, soft blankets and built-in roof heaters to help warm you up. On top of that they have hot toddies, mulled wine, hot buttered rum, brandy and even heated cocktails which come in little teapots with tea-cosies. What’s not to love?

Young and Jackson’s Rooftop Cider Bar

This place is Australia’s original and only cider bar. Here you’ll find a whole range of mulled flavours to help keep away those winter cold blues, with the apple cider being locally produced in the Yarra Valley. Their ‘Scrumpy’ mulled cider has a sweet taste while the ‘Napolean’ is less so, with it being a mixture of apple cider, pomegranate and brandy along with nutmeg and cinnamon. At this best winter location you can also get some great hearty grub to help warm your insides.

99 Problems

Appearing on the Melbourne bar scene just under a year and a half ago, this place is intimate and relaxed, allowing you to lounge while listening to some great music. To chase the cold away over winter, they are serving mulled cider, mulled wine and Fireball whiskey, so you can take your pick when it comes to choosing a warming-up beverage. Open Tuesday till Saturday, 5pm till late, this is a great place to spend winter in Melbourne relaxing with friends and hiding from the miserable temperatures outside.

Terra Rossa

Big leather couches and roaring open fires? That sounds pretty warm to us. This place is extremely inviting when you’re dealing with the Melbourne cold outside. Modern, cosy and intimate, here you can come for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just for a few warm drinks in the lounge bar. They’ve got tapas, pasta, pizza, ribs, chicken, fish – all hearty food sure to warm up and fill any empty stomach.
