Worldwide Festival Comes To Leysin, Switzerland For 2017
Worldwide Festival announces initial line-up for Leysin 2017!
The first artists selected by Gilles Peterson are a mix of newcomers and familiar names, whose recent production work and DJ sets have been mightily impressive. More names will be added to the line-up and will be announced in the coming weeks.
The first artists confirmed are: Mark de Clive-Lowe, Red Greg, Henry Wu, Jameszoo, Tommaso Cappellato, Nia Andrews, Lefto, Nikitch, James Stewart, Clementine, Leanne Wright, RadioMeuh DJs, Saint-James, Chris P Cuts, Gilles Peterson & many more to come…
South Londoner Henry Wu has been rightly labeled as one of the most exciting emerging producers this year. Drawing from different ends of the musical spectrum, his diversity on record is also apparent in his DJ sets, where he deftly speeds up and down to deliver his sound knowledge of funk and jazz, to more contemporary house styling.
What to expect at Leysin 2017
Italian drummer and producer Tommaso Cappellato is a musical maverick ‐ running the gamut from free‐form techno to hip‐ hop production and jazz improvisation.
The voice of Nia Andrews is as mesmerizing as they come. Honeyed and whimsical, the Inglewood, California bred singer-songwriter showcases a play on words and lyrical delivery that is unerring, furnishing the ideal platform for a daydream.
Dutch artist and self-described “naïve computer jazz” Jameszoo cut his teeth as a DJ, with an ear for jazz, prog rock, and beat oddities, before turning his attention to production. His debut album “Fool” is the latest release by Brainfeeder.
A Weekend pass which now includes a ski pass valid for 4 days! (Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 March) as well as access to all the parties is available to festival-goers for only 90 Euros! There is also a week pass available at a competition busting 130 euros for those who wish to ski for the whole week (23-26 March).
So here’s what’s happening: Music during the day by the slopes, followed by an after-ski party down at the bottom to finish off with DJ sets & lives in various venues around Leysin.
So, see you all in Leysin to finish off the season with a bang, especially between 23 and 26 March 2017 for the fifth winter edition of the Worldwide Festival.
